Ceia : Military and Humanitarian bomb search detectors
Military and Humanitarian bomb search detectors
MIL-D1
CEIA MIL-D1
  • Detection of magnetic and non-magnetic metals
  • Large interception depth
  • Large localisation precision
  • Large compensation precision of the effect of mineralised terrain
  • Very precise target localisation
  • Static and dynamic detection, independent of the speed of the detection head
  • Very great battery autonomy
  • Flash technology for in-the-field software updates
  • Light and ergonomic detection head, user-friendly

MIL-D1 is a very sensitive portable metal detector for the detection of magnetic and non-magnetic metals in driveable and non-driveable terrains, as well as laterite terrains.

The metal detector is equipped with a detection head, a telescopic arm, an electronic unit and a textile transport bag, as well as an anti-shock carrier bag in ABS; The detection head is robust and light, the cables were designed to protect them against damage. The electronic unit can be transported with a carrier belt and can be attached to the belt by means of the provided brackets or can be fastened to the telescopic arm.

The MIL-DI metal detector does not need to be calibrated manually and thanks to the automatic regulating system it ensures optimal sensitivity on any terrain. The localisation of metal objects is supported by a bitonal search system (pin-pointing) which allows determining the position of the mass, with a high precision level.

Manufactured in accordance with the ISO-9001 standard, this detector was made to meet the operational instructions if the most difficult environmental conditions.

Technical and operational training practice

CEIA provides full support during the technical and operational training practices. These are taught by qualified personnel onsite or at the registered office. The topics covered include preventive and systematic maintenance, operator training and practice for teachers of operators. The teaching method is based on important and complete documentation and can both seminars in classrooms and practical activities in the field are given.

MIL-D1/DS
CEIA MIL-D1/DS
  • Detection of magnetic and non-magnetic metals
  • Superior detection depth
  • Accurate Localisation
  • Total immunity to terrestrial magnetic anomalies
  • Lightweight, ergonomic search probe
  • Static and dynamic detection, independent of the speed of transit of the detector head
  • Completely digital electronics, with in-the-field program memory upgrade capability
  • Extremely high level of electrical and mechanical reliability
  • Ease of use with minimum training time required
  • Operation monitored by a microcomputer-controlled autodiagnostic system with audible warnings signals

The CEIA MIL-D1/DS Metal Detector is an active EMI detector based on transmission of an alternating, low-frequency magnetic field and on the variations introduced into this field by buried metal masses.

The detector consists of a telescopic pole with a central section in aluminium and fibreglass extensions. The two probe-antennae which act as transmitter and receiver of the magnetic field are mounted at the ends of the extensions. With their own cable the two heads are connected with a control unit containing the power batteries.

Detection signals are provided by an audible tone and an LCD located on the front panel of the control unit. This solution is mainly useful in noisy environments.

The most significant features of the MIL D1/DS are the following:

- its high sensitivity, useful for detecting metal masses at depth;
- its capacity for discrimination between surface metal masses and those of interest;
- its compensation for mineralized soils and total immunity to the effects of the terrestrial magnetic field;
- the high stability of its detection system, which shows no drift over time or with variations in environmental conditions;
- its intrinsic reliability and extremely high resistance to shock and mechanical stress, essential requirements for a long operating life.

CEIA CMD
CEIA CEIA CMD
  • Effective detection of all metal and minimum-metal content targets
  • Compact, Balanced, Lightweight design
  • One Piece Retractable design
  • Accurate pin-pointing of the target’s position indicated by: acoustic modulation and maskable LED display
  • High discrimination capability for adjacent targets
  • Automatic Compensation for mineralized and high natural metal content soil
  • Integrated battery charger
  • Long-Lasting battery life
  • Very reliable and robust
  • Operation monitored by a microcomputer-controlled autodiagnostic system
  • Completely digital electronics, with in-field program memory upgrade capability
  • Ease of operation with minimum training time required
  • Minimum set-up time

The Metal Detector comprises a search head, a control unit, a telescopic pole and an elbow support all jointed together in a one-piece design. The detection head is light and the wiring is designed to be protected from any possible damage.

The One-Piece Foldable design allows the CEIA CMD Metal Detector to be operational in a very short time and to be carried easily everywhere.

The CEIA CMD is equipped with a built-in Ni-MH battery charger which allows the batteries to be recharged (3 hours max) without the need to extract them from the unit. This also allows full environmental protection of components and maximum operational speed for the user.

Intentionally designed to be used easily and comfortably in every working condition, the CEIA CMD can be set up for operation in less than twenty seconds.

In addition to its small size and low weight the Metal Detector maintains all the most important features of the field proven MIL-D1 Metal Detector.

The length of the telescopic pole can be adjusted for operation in upright, kneeling or prone positions.

The CEIA CMD does not require any manual calibration; in addition, optimum sensitivity is ensured over all types of terrain due to CEIA’s Exclusive Automatic Soil Compensation System.

Localization of metal objects is optimized by an Acoustic Modulation pinpointing system aided by a Visual LED bar graph, which allows the position of the detected mass to be identified accurately.

If desired, the LED bar can be masked with a snapdown cover so as to avoid remote visibility (stealth operation).
